a12a6438dd ALSA: hda/realtek: Fix the mic type detection issue for ASUS G551JW
[ Upstream commit a3fd1a986e499a06ac5ef95c3a39aa4611e7444c ]

We need to define the codec pin 0x1b to be the mic, but somehow
the mic doesn't support hot plugging detection, and Windows also has
this issue, so we set it to phantom headset-mic.

Also the determine_headset_type() often returns the omtp type by a
mistake when we plug a ctia headset, this makes the mic can't record
sound at all. Because most of the headset are ctia type nowadays and
some machines have the fixed ctia type audio jack, it is possible this
machine has the fixed ctia jack too. Here we set this mic jack to
fixed ctia type, this could avoid the mic type detection mistake and
make the ctia headset work stable.

cf43b6d64c Add Acer Aspire Ethos 8951G model quirk
[ Upstream commit 00066e9733f629e536f6b7957de2ce11a85fe15a ]

This notebook has 6 built in speakers for 5.1 surround support, however
only two got autodetected and have also not been assigned correctly.

This patch enables all speakers and also fixes muting when headphones are
plugged in.

The speaker layout is as follows:

pin 0x15 Front Left / Front Right
pin 0x18 Front Center / Subwoofer
pin 0x1b Rear Left / Rear Right (Surround)

The quirk will be enabled automatically on this hardware, but can also be
activated manually via the model=aspire-ethos module parameter.

Caveat: pin 0x1b is shared between headphones jack and surround speakers.
When headphones are plugged in, the surround speakers get muted
automatically by the hardware, however all other speakers remain
unmuted. Currently it's not possible to make use of the generic automute
function in the driver, because such shared pins are not supported.

If we would change the pin settings to identify the pin as headphones,
the surround channel and thus the ability to select 5.1 profiles would
get lost.

This quirk solves the above problem by monitoring jack state of 0x1b and
by connecting/disconnecting all remaining speaker pins when something
gets plugged in or unplugged from the headphones jack port.

695490e532 ALSA: hda/realtek - Fix microphone noise on ASUS TUF B550M-PLUS
[ Upstream commit 9bfa7b36343c7d84370bc61c9ed774635b05e4eb ]

Set microphone pins 0x18 (rear) and 0x19 (front) to VREF_50 to fix the
microphone noise on ASUS TUF B550M-PLUS which uses the ALCS1200A codec.
The initial value was VREF_80.

The same issue is also present on Windows using both the default Windows
driver and all tested Realtek drivers before version 6.0.9049.1. Comparing
Realtek driver 6.0.9049.1 (the first one without the microphone noise) to
Realtek driver 6.0.9047.1 (the last one with the microphone noise)
revealed that the fix is the result of setting pins 0x18 and 0x19 to
VREF_50.

This fix may also work for other boards that have been reported to have
the same microphone issue and use the ALC1150 and ALCS1200A codecs, since
these codecs are similar and the fix in the Realtek driver on Windows is
common for both. However, it is currently enabled only for ASUS TUF
B550M-PLUS as this is the only board that could be tested.

[ Upstream commit 7f665b1c3283aae5b61843136d0a8ee808ba3199 ]

On the System76 Oryx Pro (oryp5), there is a headset microphone input
attached to 0x19 that does not have a jack detect. In order to get it
working, the pin configuration needs to be set correctly, and the
ALC269_FIXUP_HEADSET_MODE_NO_HP_MIC fixup needs to be applied. This is
similar to the MIC_NO_PRESENCE fixups for some Dell laptops, except we
have a separate microphone jack that is already configured correctly.

Since the ALC1220 does not have a fixup similar to
ALC269_FIXUP_HEADSET_MODE_NO_HP_MIC, I have exposed the fixup from the
ALC269 in a way that it can be accessed from the
alc1220_fixup_system76_oryp5 function. In addition, the
alc1220_fixup_clevo_p950 needs to be applied to gain speaker output.

36bfbaa295 ALSA: hda/conexant: Partial revert of a quirk for Lenovo
commit b871cb971c683f7f212e7ca3c9a6709a75785116 upstream.

The recent commit f83bb2592482 ("ALSA: hda/conexant: Add quirk for
LENOVO 20149 Notebook model") introduced a quirk for the device with
17aa:3977, but this caused a regression on another model (Lenovo
Ideadpad U31) with the very same PCI SSID. And, through skimming over
the net, it seems that this PCI SSID is used for multiple different
models, so it's no good idea to apply the quirk with the SSID.

Although we may take a different ID check (e.g. the codec SSID instead
of the PCI SSID), unfortunately, the original patch author couldn't
identify the hardware details any longer as the machine was returned,
and we can't develop the further proper fix.

In this patch, instead, we partially revert the change so that the
quirk won't be applied as default for addressing the regression.
Meanwhile, the quirk function itself is kept, and it's now made to be
applicable via the explicit model=lenovo-20149 option.

[ Upstream commit 46243b85b0ec5d2cee7545e5ce18c015ce91957e ]

The position reporting on Intel Skylake and later chips via
azx_get_pos_skl() contains a udelay(20) call for the capture streams.
A call for this alone doesn't sound too harmful. However, as the
pointer PCM ops is one of the hottest path in the PCM operations --
especially for the timer-scheduled operations like PulseAudio -- such
a delay hogs CPU usage significantly in the total performance.

The code there was taken from the original code in ASoC SST Skylake
driver blindly. The udelay() is a workaround for the case where the
reported position is behind the period boundary at the timing
triggered from interrupts; applications often expect that the full
data is available for the whole period when returned (and also that's
the definition of the ALSA PCM period).

OTOH, HD-audio (legacy) driver has already some workarounds for the
delayed position reporting due to its relatively large FIFO, such as
the BDL position adjustment and the delayed period-elapsed call in the
work. That said, the udelay() is almost superfluous for HD-audio
driver unlike SST, and we can drop the udelay().

Though, the current code doesn't guarantee the full period readiness
as mentioned in the above, but rather it checks the wallclock and
detects the unexpected jump. That's one missing piece, and the drop
of udelay() needs a bit more sanity checks for the delayed handling.

This patch implements those: the drop of udelay() call in
azx_get_pos_skl() and the more proper check of hwptr in
azx_position_ok(). The latter change is applied only for the case
where the stream is running in the normal mode without
no_period_wakeup flag. When no_period_wakeup is set, it essentially
ignores the period handling and rather concentrates only on the
current position; which implies that we don't need to care about the
period boundary at all.

ae870337fb ALSA: hda - fix the 'Capture Switch' value change notifications
[ Upstream commit a2befe9380dd04ee76c871568deca00eedf89134 ]

The original code in the cap_put_caller() function does not
handle correctly the positive values returned from the passed
function for multiple iterations. It means that the change
notifications may be lost.

7700cc40bb ALSA: hda: Add IRQ check for platform_get_irq()
[ Upstream commit 8c13212443230d03ff25014514ec0d53498c0912 ]

The function hda_tegra_first_init() neglects to check the return
value after executing platform_get_irq().

hda_tegra_first_init() should check the return value (if negative
error number) for errors so as to not pass a negative value to
the devm_request_irq().

Fix it by adding a check for the return value irq_id.
