ima: Allow template selection with ima_template[_fmt]= after ima_hash=
commit bb8e52e4906f148c2faf6656b5106cf7233e9301 upstream. Commit c2426d2ad5027 ("ima: added support for new kernel cmdline parameter ima_template_fmt") introduced an additional check on the ima_template variable to avoid multiple template selection. Unfortunately, ima_template could be also set by the setup function of the ima_hash= parameter, when it calls ima_template_desc_current(). This causes attempts to choose a new template with ima_template= or with ima_template_fmt=, after ima_hash=, to be ignored. Achieve the goal of the commit mentioned with the new static variable template_setup_done, so that template selection requests after ima_hash= are not ignored. Finally, call ima_init_template_list(), if not already done, to initialize the list of templates before lookup_template_desc() is called. ima: Remove ima_policy file before directory
commit f7333b9572d0559e00352a926c92f29f061b4569 upstream. The removal of ima_dir currently fails since ima_policy still exists, so remove the ima_policy file before removing the directory. integrity: check the return value of audit_log_start()
commit 83230351c523b04ff8a029a4bdf97d881ecb96fc upstream. audit_log_start() returns audit_buffer pointer on success or NULL on error, so it is better to check the return value of it. selinux: initialize proto variable in selinux_ip_postroute_compat()
commit 732bc2ff080c447f8524f40c970c481f5da6eed3 upstream. Clang static analysis reports this warning hooks.c:5765:6: warning: 4th function call argument is an uninitialized value if (selinux_xfrm_postroute_last(sksec->sid, skb, &ad, proto)) ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ selinux_parse_skb() can return ok without setting proto. The later call to selinux_xfrm_postroute_last() does an early check of proto and can return ok if the garbage proto value matches. So initialize proto. [ Upstream commit d108370c644b153382632b3e5511ade575c91c86 ] clang static analysis reports this representative problem: label.c:1463:16: warning: Assigned value is garbage or undefined label->hname = name; ^ ~~~~ In aa_update_label_name(), this the problem block of code if (aa_label_acntsxprint(&name, ...) == -1) return res; On failure, aa_label_acntsxprint() has a more complicated return that just -1. So check for a negative return. It was also noted that the aa_label_acntsxprint() main comment refers to a nonexistent parameter, so clean up the comment. smackfs: use netlbl_cfg_cipsov4_del() for deleting cipso_v4_doi
[ Upstream commit 0934ad42bb2c5df90a1b9de690f93de735b622fe ] syzbot is reporting UAF at cipso_v4_doi_search() [1], for smk_cipso_doi() is calling kfree() without removing from the cipso_v4_doi_list list after netlbl_cfg_cipsov4_map_add() returned an error. We need to use netlbl_cfg_cipsov4_del() in order to remove from the list and wait for RCU grace period before kfree(). smackfs: use __GFP_NOFAIL for smk_cipso_doi()
[ Upstream commit f91488ee15bd3cac467e2d6a361fc2d34d1052ae ] syzbot is reporting kernel panic at smk_cipso_doi() due to memory allocation fault injection [1]. The reason for need to use panic() was not explained. But since no fix was proposed for 18 months, for now let's use __GFP_NOFAIL for utilizing syzbot resource on other bugs. smackfs: Fix use-after-free in netlbl_catmap_walk()
[ Upstream commit 0817534ff9ea809fac1322c5c8c574be8483ea57 ] Syzkaller reported use-after-free bug as described in [1]. The bug is triggered when smk_set_cipso() tries to free stale category bitmaps while there are concurrent reader(s) using the same bitmaps. Wait for RCU grace period to finish before freeing the category bitmaps in smk_set_cipso(). This makes sure that there are no more readers using the stale bitmaps and freeing them should be safe. evm: mark evm_fixmode as __ro_after_init
commit 32ba540f3c2a7ef61ed5a577ce25069a3d714fc9 upstream. binder: use cred instead of task for selinux checks
commit 52f88693378a58094c538662ba652aff0253c4fe upstream. Since binder was integrated with selinux, it has passed 'struct task_struct' associated with the binder_proc to represent the source and target of transactions. The conversion of task to SID was then done in the hook implementations. It turns out that there are race conditions which can result in an incorrect security context being used. Fix by using the 'struct cred' saved during binder_open and pass it to the selinux subsystem. apparmor: remove duplicate macro list_entry_is_head()
commit 9801ca279ad37f72f71234fa81722afd95a3f997 upstream. Strangely I hadn't had noticed the existence of the list_entry_is_head() in apparmor code when added the same one in the list.h. Luckily it's fully identical and didn't break builds. In any case we don't need a duplicate anymore, thus remove it from apparmor code. Smack: Fix wrong semantics in smk_access_entry()
[ Upstream commit 6d14f5c7028eea70760df284057fe198ce7778dd ] In the smk_access_entry() function, if no matching rule is found in the rust_list, a negative error code will be used to perform bit operations with the MAY_ enumeration value. This is semantically wrong. This patch fixes this issue. ANDROID: selinux: modify RTM_GETNEIGH{TBL}
Map the permission gating RTM_GETNEIGH/RTM_GETNEIGHTBL messages to a new permission so that it can be distinguished from the other netlink route permissions in selinux policy. The new permission is triggered by a flag set in system images T and up. This change is intended to be backported to all kernels that a T system image can run on top of. Bug: 171572148 Test: atest NetworkInterfaceTest Test: atest CtsSelinuxTargetSdkCurrentTestCases Test: atest bionic-unit-tests-static Test: On Cuttlefish, run combinations of: - Policy bit set or omitted (see https://r.android.com/1701847) - This patch applied or omitted - App having nlmsg_readneigh permission or not Verify that only the combination of this patch + the policy bit being set + the app not having the nlmsg_readneigh permission prevents the app from sending RTM_GETNEIGH messages. security: commoncap: fix -Wstringop-overread warning
commit 82e5d8cc768b0c7b03c551a9ab1f8f3f68d5f83f upstream. gcc-11 introdces a harmless warning for cap_inode_getsecurity: security/commoncap.c: In function ‘cap_inode_getsecurity’: security/commoncap.c:440:33: error: ‘memcpy’ reading 16 bytes from a region of size 0 [-Werror=stringop-overread] 440 | memcpy(&nscap->data, &cap->data, sizeof(__le32) * 2 * VFS_CAP_U32); | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The problem here is that tmpbuf is initialized to NULL, so gcc assumes it is not accessible unless it gets set by vfs_getxattr_alloc(). This is a legitimate warning as far as I can tell, but the code is correct since it correctly handles the error when that function fails. Add a separate NULL check to tell gcc about it as well. Revert 95ebabde382c ("capabilities: Don't allow writing ambiguous v3 file capabilities")
commit 3b0c2d3eaa83da259d7726192cf55a137769012f upstream. It turns out that there are in fact userspace implementations that care and this recent change caused a regression. https://github.com/containers/buildah/issues/3071 As the motivation for the original change was future development, and the impact is existing real world code just revert this change and allow the ambiguity in v3 file caps. smackfs: restrict bytes count in smackfs write functions
commit 7ef4c19d245f3dc233fd4be5acea436edd1d83d8 upstream. syzbot found WARNINGs in several smackfs write operations where bytes count is passed to memdup_user_nul which exceeds GFP MAX_ORDER. Check count size if bigger than PAGE_SIZE. Per smackfs doc, smk_write_net4addr accepts any label or -CIPSO, smk_write_net6addr accepts any label or -DELETE. I couldn't find any general rule for other label lengths except SMK_LABELLEN, SMK_LONGLABEL, SMK_CIPSOMAX which are documented. Let's constrain, in general, smackfs label lengths for PAGE_SIZE. Although fuzzer crashes write to smackfs/netlabel on 0x400000 length. Here is a quick way to reproduce the WARNING: python -c "print('A' * 0x400000)" > /sys/fs/smackfs/netlabel Reported-by: syzbot+a71a442385a0b2815497@syzkaller.appspotmail.com Signed-off-by: Sabyrzhan Tasbolatov <snovitoll@gmail.com> Signed-off-by: Casey Schaufler <casey@schaufler-ca.com> Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org> |

KEYS: trusted: Fix migratable=1 failing
commit 8da7520c80468c48f981f0b81fc1be6599e3b0ad upstream. Consider the following transcript: $ keyctl add trusted kmk "new 32 blobauth=helloworld keyhandle=80000000 migratable=1" @u add_key: Invalid argument The documentation has the following description: migratable= 0|1 indicating permission to reseal to new PCR values, default 1 (resealing allowed) The consequence is that "migratable=1" should succeed. Fix this by allowing this condition to pass instead of return -EINVAL. [*] Documentation/security/keys/trusted-encrypted.rst Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org Cc: "James E.J. certs: Fix blacklist flag type confusion
[ Upstream commit 4993e1f9479a4161fd7d93e2b8b30b438f00cb0f ] KEY_FLAG_KEEP is not meant to be passed to keyring_alloc() or key_alloc(), as these only take KEY_ALLOC_* flags. KEY_FLAG_KEEP has the same value as KEY_ALLOC_BYPASS_RESTRICTION, but fortunately only key_create_or_update() uses it. LSMs using the key_alloc hook don't check that flag. KEY_FLAG_KEEP is then ignored but fortunately (again) the root user cannot write to the blacklist keyring, so it is not possible to remove a key/hash from it. Fix this by adding a KEY_ALLOC_SET_KEEP flag that tells key_alloc() to set KEY_FLAG_KEEP on the new key. blacklist_init() can then, correctly, pass this to keyring_alloc(). We can also use this in ima_mok_init() rather than setting the flag manually. Note that this doesn't fix an observable bug with the current implementation but it is required to allow addition of new hashes to the blacklist in the future without making it possible for them to be removed. capabilities: Don't allow writing ambiguous v3 file capabilities
[ Upstream commit 95ebabde382c371572297915b104e55403674e73 ] The v3 file capabilities have a uid field that records the filesystem uid of the root user of the user namespace the file capabilities are valid in. When someone is silly enough to have the same underlying uid as the root uid of multiple nested containers a v3 filesystem capability can be ambiguous. In the spirit of don't do that then, forbid writing a v3 filesystem capability if it is ambiguous. Fixes: 8db6c34f1dbc ("Introduce v3 namespaced file capabilities") Reviewed-by: Andrew G. ima: Free IMA measurement buffer after kexec syscall
[ Upstream commit f31e3386a4e92ba6eda7328cb508462956c94c64 ] IMA allocates kernel virtual memory to carry forward the measurement list, from the current kernel to the next kernel on kexec system call, in ima_add_kexec_buffer() function. This buffer is not freed before completing the kexec system call resulting in memory leak. Add ima_buffer field in "struct kimage" to store the virtual address of the buffer allocated for the IMA measurement list. cap: fix conversions on getxattr
[ Upstream commit f2b00be488730522d0fb7a8a5de663febdcefe0a ] If a capability is stored on disk in v2 format cap_inode_getsecurity() will currently return in v2 format unconditionally. This is wrong: v2 cap should be equivalent to a v3 cap with zero rootid, and so the same conversions performed on it. If the rootid cannot be mapped, v3 is returned unconverted. Fix this so that both v2 and v3 return -EOVERFLOW if the rootid (or the owner of the fs user namespace in case of v2) cannot be mapped into the current user namespace. dump_common_audit_data(): fix racy accesses to ->d_name
commit d36a1dd9f77ae1e72da48f4123ed35627848507d upstream. We are not guaranteed the locking environment that would prevent dentry getting renamed right under us. And it's possible for old long name to be freed after rename, leading to UAF here. ima: Don't modify file descriptor mode on the fly
commit 207cdd565dfc95a0a5185263a567817b7ebf5467 upstream. Commit a408e4a86b36b ("ima: open a new file instance if no read permissions") already introduced a second open to measure a file when the original file descriptor does not allow it. However, it didn't remove the existing method of changing the mode of the original file descriptor, which is still necessary if the current process does not have enough privileges to open a new one. Changing the mode isn't really an option, as the filesystem might need to do preliminary steps to make the read possible. Thus, this patch removes the code and keeps the second open as the only option to measure a file when it is unreadable with the original file descriptor. selinux: fix inode_doinit_with_dentry() LABEL_INVALID error handling
[ Upstream commit 200ea5a2292dc444a818b096ae6a32ba3caa51b9 ] A previous fix, commit 83370b31a915 ("selinux: fix error initialization in inode_doinit_with_dentry()"), changed how failures were handled before a SELinux policy was loaded. Unfortunately that patch was potentially problematic for two reasons: it set the isec->initialized state without holding a lock, and it didn't set the inode's SELinux label to the "default" for the particular filesystem. The later can be a problem if/when a later attempt to revalidate the inode fails and SELinux reverts to the existing inode label. This patch should restore the default inode labeling that existed before the original fix, without affecting the LABEL_INVALID marking such that revalidation will still be attempted in the future. Fixes: 83370b31a915 ("selinux: fix error initialization in inode_doinit_with_dentry()") Reported-by: Sven Schnelle <svens@linux.ibm.com> Tested-by: Sven Schnelle <svens@linux.ibm.com> Reviewed-by: Ondrej Mosnacek <omosnace@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: Paul Moore <paul@paul-moore.com> Signed-off-by: Sasha Levin <sashal@kernel.org> |

[ Upstream commit 83370b31a915493231e5b9addc72e4bef69f8d31 ] Mark the inode security label as invalid if we cannot find a dentry so that we will retry later rather than marking it initialized with the unlabeled SID. selinux: Fix error return code in sel_ib_pkey_sid_slow()
commit c350f8bea271782e2733419bd2ab9bf4ec2051ef upstream. Fix to return a negative error code from the error handling case instead of 0 in function sel_ib_pkey_sid_slow(), as done elsewhere in this function. RTIC: Move selinux_state to a separate 4k
We need to relocate selinux_state to a separate 4k page to enable EL2 Hypervisor to monitor changes to this variable using ARM stage 2 MMU. We will avoid getting page faults from un-related data as the MMU granularity is configured to 4k.
