In commit 9ea9b9c48387 ("remove the lightnvm subsystem") the lightnvm subsystem was removed as there is no hardware in the wild for it, and the code is known to have problems. This should also be disabled for older LTS kernels as well to prevent anyone from accidentally using it. Say Y here to get to enable Open-channel SSDs.
Open-Channel SSDs implement a set of extension to SSDs, that
exposes direct access to the underlying non-volatile memory.

Allows an open-channel SSD to be exposed as a block device to the

host. The target is implemented using a linear mapping table and

cost-based garbage collection. It is optimized for 4K IO sizes.

Allows an open-channel SSD to be exposed as a block device to the

explicitly managed by the host.
